PROTOTYPES · TOOLS · PRODUCTION
Make custom tools and production parts faster and for a fraction of the cost of an external supplier.

A 3D printing farm works like a small production line for plastic and composite parts, without expensive injection molds and tooling. It consists of FDM printers that build parts layer by layer from melted plastic filament, SLA printers that cure liquid resin with UV light, or a combination of both. Instead of ordering parts or tools from a supplier and waiting for delivery, you print them in-house when you need them and cut costs. We install our farm at your site and keep it supplied and serviced.
Print a part in the morning, test it after lunch, and print the revision the same day. No need to pay for a mold, wait for a supplier quote, or meet a minimum order quantity, so a design can go through ten versions for just the price of material and machine time. FDM printers are also useful for prototyping parts meant for SLS, an industrial process that uses a laser to fuse plastic powder. You can fine-tune the design on FDM and send it to the more expensive SLS process only once, when it's final.
Jigs, fixtures, gauges and assembly aids are usually tailored to one workplace and one product version, so every revision means ordering new ones and waiting for them. With 3D printing you have the new version in-house the same day the product changes, cutting downtime and cost.
Composites and high-temp materials can replace aluminum in many parts that work inside a machine, and thanks to the smooth, detailed surface finish, you can also make visible or decorative parts, not just functional ones. With no mold to pay off, even a single piece is worth making, including spare parts for machines whose original supplier is gone, so your production line doesn't stop.
The farm doesn't have to print only for your own production. You can also print on demand for your customers, from design products such as promotional items or decorations to functional parts they build into their own products or use in their production.
Prusa Connect Farm plans the jobs and sends them to printers with the right material loaded, so your operators only collect finished parts. With the Prusa Pro AFS (Automated Farm System), harvesting is automated.

Create a print order in the farm system
In Prusa Connect Farm, you enter which part and how many pieces you need, and confirm the order.

The order is assigned to suitable printers
Connect Farm sends the order to printers with the matching material loaded, and each one starts its print job.

Remove, confirm and the next print starts
The operator removes the part from the sheet and confirms it in Connect Farm, and the printer starts the next print job. With the Prusa Pro AFS, a robotic arm does this for you.

Our own farm of 700+ printers runs 24/7, making parts for our printers and other products we sell. It prints over a million production parts every month and logs more than a million print hours every quarter. We use the same printers, Prusament materials, Prusa Connect Farm software, and print profiles that we deliver to you, and we develop every one of them ourselves. Everything we know about downtime, sheet swaps, material handling, and maintenance comes from running the farm every day.
Prusa Connect Farm runs in our cloud. We also offer Prusa Connect Farm On-Prem, which runs directly at your site and works completely without an internet connection.
Prusa Connect Farm is developed in-house and operated by Prusa Research. Only the people you grant access to can reach your printers and print files. Most of our printers run open-source firmware that you can review, compile yourself and run offline, and on many models you can remove the Wi-Fi module so the printer has no wireless access at all. We are also working toward ISO/IEC 27001 certification.
All communication between your printers, Prusa Connect and your browser is encrypted with the same standard that protects bank transactions.
Multi-factor authentication and role-based access control decide what each user can see and do, with separate Admin, Manager and Operator roles.
Security incidents are monitored and alerted proactively, DDoS protection covers the network, transport and application layers, and our support center handles reported incidents 24/7.
Prusa Connect helps you meet the security requirements of the NIS2 directive. Under GDPR we act as your data processor and sign a data processing agreement with you.
The materials you want to print decide which printers go into your farm. Here are three examples, from everyday engineering materials to the high-temperature top end.

ASA
Prusament ASA is UV stable and holds up outdoors, resists heat well and prints fine detail. Parts can be sanded or smoothed with acetone vapor for an injection-molded look.

PC Blend Carbon Fiber
Prusament PC Blend Carbon Fiber is strong, rigid and wear resistant, with high-temperature resistance that annealing pushes further. It keeps its dimensions on large parts, resists UV and common chemicals, and needs a hardened nozzle.

Advanced high-temp materials
Prusament PEI 1010 (Ultem) resists thermal stress and chemicals, is inherently flame-retardant and can stand in for aluminum alloys. Materials like this need the heated chamber of the Prusa Pro HT90, which also prints PEEK, PEKK, PPSU and PSU.
You only prepare the space. We deliver, install and commission the complete farm, supply the printing material and train your staff, so you can start printing right away.

Printers and hardware
We deliver custom racks equipped with any combination of our printers: from the MK4S and CORE One, to the CORE One L and XL for large-format prints, the HT90 for the most advanced materials, and the SLX for resin. You can also opt for the Prusa Pro AFS for fully automated printing, or run it alongside any of our other printers for maximum flexibility.

Software
Prusa Connect Farm handles orders, scheduling, reports, and material tracking, while Zebra scanners let operators match part labels and send rejected parts back for a reprint right at the printer. Use it via our secure cloud, or choose Prusa Connect Farm On-Prem (or the lightweight Prusa Connect Local) to ensure your 3D models and print jobs never leave your network.

Materials and consumables
We supply Prusament filament and resin in volumes matched to your consumption, along with all necessary consumables. This includes print sheets with various surfaces and nozzles in different sizes or with a hardened coating for abrasive materials. You don't need to handle the sourcing yourself.

Facility guide
We provide documentation covering the space requirements, including floor area, power draw, circuit protection, network, and ventilation. You prepare the space, and we handle the complete installation.

Operator training
Our specialist trains your operators on-site, sets up the print processes, and tests your parts on the machines. The handover covers the entire workflow, from model preparation to final dispatch.

Service and support
We provide warranty coverage, spare parts, and preventive maintenance under a service agreement. Parts and technicians come directly from us.
Both solutions run on Prusa Connect Farm, integrate with Zebra scanners, and share the same workflow. You enter your print order and collect the finished parts. You can also run both together: a Prusa Pro AFS for high-volume production, plus the XL for large parts or the HT90 for advanced materials.

Print farm
Custom rack-mounted setups using a tailored mix of our printers. Connect Farm automatically assigns print jobs to machines with the matching material, and the operator collects the finished parts. You can start with around ten printers and scale up as your production grows.

Prusa Pro AFS
A self-contained block of nine CoreXY printers built for continuous automation. An integrated robotic arm transfers finished prints into internal storage and loads fresh sheets without operator intervention. You can add more blocks as your production grows.
